Providing resource assessment to help in optimal sizing of microgrids Facilitate socio-economic growth of the local communities through Telemedicine, Teleducation Ensuring communication between different local communities Creating better economic development opportunities through access to better data and tools Support the assessment of the socio economic impact of microgrid projects Support disaster recovery and damage assessment Winner of Indo-USA PACEsetter Fund working with European Space Agency for feasibility of use of satellite around energy access Comparison of Battery technologies Li-Ion Manufacturing in India  Currently, India have 1 Gwh MWh level Li-Ion assembling / packaging plants in India  Additional 20 companies are doing manual assembling in small scale in India  IESA expecting 3-4 Li-Ion Cell manufacturing will open in next 2-3 years in India.  IES Team also helping a few conglomerates to enter this space and with global companies to set up manufacturing facilities in India.  Central Government is planning launch a Giga Scale manufacturing program for 50 GWh advanced energy storage manufacturing in India. Invitesall Globalcompaniesto setuptheirmanufacturinginIndia. Indian Central Government will provide production subsidy with other tax incentives. All Chinese companies are welcome to set up their large scale Advanced Battery manufacturing in India. IESA can support global companiesto apply for thisprogramme.  Apart from Central Government, IESA is also working with various state government such as Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra for battery manufacturing cluster. MAKE IN INDIA MOVE- Moving Onwards with Vehicle Electrification  IESA-MOVE is a new initiative to address policy issues related to EV manufacturing and charging infrastructure.  Working closely willing to work with with existing stake holder groups such as ARAI, ICAT, DST, DHI, NITI Aayog, BIS to identify gaps  Some of the recent Activities  Provided recommendations to NITI Aayog and DIPP on manufacturing policy for storage EVs  Helped organize CEO roundtable with InvestIndia to discuss energy storage and EV manufacturing in India in August 2017  Addressed industry concerns related to push for swapping only policy at IESA Policy Forum  Working with ICAT and ARAI for improving industry interactions  Focusing on li-ion cell, battery pack as well as charging infrastructure manufacturing  EV India Conference track at ESI 2020, the 7th international conference and expo held in Delhi from Jan 2020  Will host 3rd India Energy Storage Policy Forum, 21st September 2019.  Will host 3rd IESA-IEEMA Energy Storage and EV Charging Infra Manufacturing Masterclass on August 23-24, 2019, Mumbai IESA organized a one day policy roundtable discussion in December 2018 on e-mobility in association with Karnataka Government and Sun Mobility. Innovation possibilities are limitless in energy storage. They could be at a materials, design, controls, packaging or system level. Some ideas for general improvement trends are presented in the next few slides.
